HASAN PİR’S OPINION COLUMN
I have been following the writings and posts on Twitter of Ms Öznur Küçüker Sirene, an international relations expert from Istanbul who has long lived in France, from the very first day. I do not know her personally. Ms Öznur has other social media accounts, but I only follow her Twitter account.
First of all, I must say that I saw in Ms Öznur’s example how important a resolute national stance is.
In times when French state officials engaged in intense hostility towards Türkiye and Muslims, Ms Öznur courageously defended the truth on French TV channels and in the media; she defended her nation, her state, her faith and her homeland. She conveyed misunderstood truths, above all the reality of Türkiye and Islam, to the French and to the whole world in the finest and most effective way.
With her extraordinary culture and her polished, fluent French that impresses even the French themselves, she heroically told, and continues to tell, the true story of Türkiye, Türkiye’s realities and Europe’s hypocrisy. I congratulate Ms Öznur, this heroine of national resolve. May God keep her.
We have much to learn from Öznur Küçüker Sirene, who analyses world politics and the wheels turning within it with great skill, reads the big picture and explains it to her followers in plain, clear Turkish.
Ms Öznur follows Türkiye’s agenda very closely. She constantly and frequently emphasises that our President, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is a chance for this country, a chance for the Islamic world and for oppressed nations. From the big global picture she reads, she expresses beautifully what a Türkiye with Erdoğan means for Europe and the world.
We need more women like Ms Öznur all over the world, people who live in Europe and have personally witnessed and experienced Europeans treating Turks and the Muslim community as second-class people for years. Ms Öznur has shown us all how important an unspoiled, uncorrupted national culture and national stance are.
For Ms Öznur, whose principled writings and posts I have witnessed, exalting our country, protecting our homeland and state, devoted to her faith, it would be no exaggeration to use the saying: “Whoever devotes themselves to their nation is a nation unto themselves.” Yes, with her writings and analyses, Ms Öznur is a fine example of someone devoting herself to Türkiye in Europe.
Ms Öznur exposes hostility towards Türkiye around the world and Europe’s hypocrisy on European television, right before Europeans’ eyes. The impact of her superb French-language appearance on the “28 minutes” programme of the French channel Arte, where she explained the HDP–PKK relationship and that the PKK is a murderous organisation, is still being talked about across Europe.
Let us pray for the continuation of the clear-sighted work of Ms Öznur who, with her faithful, devout and modest character, reads Türkiye and the world in big-picture format and explains to her audience, in a very clear and accessible style, the games being played on our country.
